Well although the Indian Killer is not revealed, the last killing was done by John, the true killer is never revealed. His death symbolizes sort of an end of the violence, even though the killings may not of been by him. This is because the racist whites (Truck Schultz) would never think that it could possibly be someone other than John. It was the same pattern for the victims, and he was Indian. What was the most disturbing part for me was being in John's head as he slowly goes crazy. It in a way is a lot like Sherman Alexie's other book, Flight, which is also a great read.

This is a very good book. I liked the way how each character molded the story. Also, the insight of how intercultural adoption has an impact on the adoptee. I can see how an individual who has white parents and knows they are native american can drive a mental disorder. That person will always wonder who they are and it will always be a question of what tribe they are. My mother always said that you are not a whole person, unless you know who you are and where your roots come from. I'm native american and have seen the effects of this type of situation.
