I have a couple blogs I post to irregularly and they went down from PR4 to PR3. I am glad they did because I thought they actually did not deserve 4 when I posted so infrequently. I think since I had 5000 inbound links fomr my blogrolls they were artificially high rankings.

This site is an outstanding Revolution Theme example... are you on Brian Gardner's "showcase"... I would recommend asking him... you deserve more exposure and you have done a great job with the theme - Regards !

Thank you very much for posting the update. Why, just the other week I was whining that I had lost all my PR after the redesign.

Still need to work on the link love. Oh joy of joys.

Love the site, it looks...FANTASTIC.

@ Hope

The real place that you see a difference when your rank rises is in Search results. The more respect Google has for your site, the more likely you are to end up in the top categories for searches that hit your types of content.

@ James

More proof that your strategy works.

@ Amy

Had I known that anyone would pay attention to the Madness, I would have planned it better.

Hey, look at that! Good thing you're paying attention, John, or I wouldn't have known. :-)

P.S., Having contestants sign up might be a good thing, as I didn't even know I was part of your contest until Jeanne congratulated me on winning (some round or another). ;-) Shows how slow I am to catch up on reading all the blogs I like....

Too funny to read the comments here. PR is all over the place, rising and rising again.

@ John - Considering we left our PR4 behind in February to move our domain, yeah, we started with a 0. So who knows what number you saw when you drove by.

As for next year... Hm. Victory versus Glory. Which to choose, which to choose...

John,

Thanks for holding March Madness. I had no clue how my site ranked - didn't really care at the time. I've since made improvements, and I guess rank does matter. You improved writer blog sites as a whole. Feel proud.

@ QRW

It was fun. I got to know a lot of writers through the contest and I think it has helped my blog in many ways, including a move up from a page rank of five to a page rank of six.

@ Jeanne

Thank you. I had forgotten that a lot of sites were assigned ones rather than their actual zeros. That makes the rise even more dramatic!

John,

Though you assigned Writer's Notes PR 1 for calculation purposes during March Madness, its actual PR was 0 at the time (though it rose to PR 2 in early May). In any event, since March Madness, Writer's Notes' PR has risen three points (from PR 0 to PR 3).

Thanks for listing all the blog tournament participants whose PR has increased! That's always great news!

Many congratulations to everyone!
