Just as the interviewer needs to do homework, I think the person who is being interviewed also does homework and makes an assessment about the interviewer. Therefore, it is also important that you should be aware of what perception people have about you when you are going to interview someone. There could be times when the response or answers that you get may have a lot to do with your own reputation as a writer / reporter. If your reputation is good & positive, there should be no problem. On the other hand if there are a fair amount of Grey, then you need to have a strategy in place, else it is quite likely that the interview may not be successful.
