Super Simple Submissions Tracker
August 23, 2007 by John Hewitt
A few years ago I published a simple submissions tracking document for keeping track of your publication queries and other proposals. I created it in Word. It is a table with the following categories: Submission Title, Market, Recipient, Submission Date, Status, and Feedback. Somewhere along the way, the file got deleted. My original post wasn’t exactly a big draw, so I didn’t realize it was deleted until just recently. Today I took ten minutes and created a new one (it’s that simple). Now the old link works again and I get a brand-new post out of the deal. So, if you want a simple submissions tracker in RTF format (good for Word, OpenOffice and most word processors) download it here.
If you don’t like using a boring, non-interactive word processing program for your tracking. You can try using a calendar program. I especially like the Google Calendar because I can access it from anywhere and I don’t have to worry about my computer crashing. Writer’s Market also includes a tracking system if you use their service. The important thing to remember is that it doesn’t matter how you track your submissions, as long as you do track them. Find a system you feel good about and stick with it.

I could not open the link so I think I’ll just create one.
Thanks!
Hi Sandra,
I swear that link worked yesterday, but it’s fixed now. Again.
Got it! Thank you so much.

Just found your website. I love it. I started my own tracking system, but this one is so much simpler and can cover submissions in all genre.
Thanks.
