I've had the problem before where I have been writing a good poem and then suddenly I write a good line or two. Unfortunately sometimes that line sets the standard of my poem that my other lines cannot meet. It almost sounds awkward to have those lines in the poem, and rewording other lines still may not satisfy. I usually never release the poems publicly, in that case, although may use those lines, or later incorporate then into another poem. Sometimes you can make one great poem out of great lines from 10 normal poems.
