I would say that the exact opposite is true. Writing poetry has never been particularly rewarding financially. The fact that so many people continue to do it when they know there is no money in it for them is proof that poetry itself is thriving.</description>

		<description>Sorry to disagree, but poetry IS dead.  The fact that it doesn&#039;t pay is evidence of this.  Sure, lots of people write it, but no one reads it.  If they did, the people who wrote it could make money.  The problem is the rules have been destroyed so there is no objective standards any more.  You&#039;re not allowed to distinguish good poetry from bad poetry.</description>
