I came upon your 10 tips while researching 'how to write a mystery'. I'm able to unload a ton of material on the page the minute I sit down and write. Then I get stuck! Any suggestions?

I was doing it all wrong! Saw this site though and I started my first book. It's a mystery and a made-up one at that. I was trying to write the real thing all the time. Thank-you so much for the tips. It's a little scary knowing that the story might get published someday but that's better than no story at all.

I have just started to try to write a novel and I was so glad when I found this article. This will be a great help for me. I think I have got a nice idea about the contest of my novel and now I perhaps will be able to write it down too.

Great advice, thanks! I've done a bit of writing, but not a lot with fiction. These tips help.

Thanks!

I'm writing my first novel and I can honestly say that this article addressed each of my major questions. Only someone who has taken that step of faith to dare to write that first novel can truly understand the fears that can arise especially if you have no formal training. I'm almost 50,000 words into my mystery novel and I've been basically parazlyed because I really was thinking that I should not have writen only in the first tense and I was tryin to find the courage to change the tense at the point of the story where the pieces start to reveal themselves. I know now to not even think about it.

Thank you so much.
I'm going to write it and send it in.
