Fail Your Way to Greatness
April 11, 2005 by J.C. Hewitt
Aspiring writers night want to check out a book called, Great Failures of the Extremely Successful. The book, edited by Steve Young, includes anecdotes from acclaimed people in a variety of fields. Each story tells about one or more major setbacks in their careers and life. The stories then go on to tell how those setbacks were overcome and sometimes even turned to the person’s advantage. All of the anecdotes are worth reading, but potential writers should be especially interested in the tales of people such as author Clive Cussler, writer-producer Chuck Lorre, screenwriter Larry Gelbart, humorists Al Franken and Steve Allen, critic Michael Medved, and motivational writer Mark Victor Hansen. There are also coaches, scientists, politicians, business leaders and an array of other people who have had great successes after substantial failures.

I will have to pick it up I would like to see what mistakes they have made and even better if they would tell what keys they thought were necessary for success. Funny thing is you said Al Franken was a funny man but he might also fit into that political person as well as it looks like he will win the senatorial race.
