This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Curator Division. The incumbent is responsible for writing, rewriting, editing and producing reports and educational/informational materials for print and electronic publication (i.e., on AOC Web site) regarding the activities of the Architect of the Capitol, the history of the Capitol and the works of art and architecture under the care of the AOC. Writes, rewrites and edits educational/informational materials about the history of the Capitol and its works of art and the activities of the AOC for the Congress and the public, such as fact sheets, press releases, signage, exhibit text and labels, responses to academic inquiries, content for the AOC web site and letters and memoranda. Uses The Museum System (TMS) collection-management database to locate information about heritage assets under AOC care; adds information to database from authoritative sources.
