Stuck in class
Wishing for grass
Beneath the sun with a glass
Of champagne and a board pass
That takes me mardi gas

Wishing to be somewhere far
Maybe to see the Czar
And visit the grand Bazaar
And see the Northern Star
And driving around in a sport car

If only life is as we dream
And not be as dreary as it might seem
We might live in a regime
Where happiness is our theme
And we will be a great team.

I smile at the wind
Before I begin
Another day of sin
In my mother’s eyes

I like to free-think
As often as I blink
And while others drink
I’m writing my social epitaph
In shimmering poetry, words that wink

But prayer is my mom’s goal
She’s fearing for my soul
All these hours on my own
The only time I feel
Connected in every bone
To humanity as a whole

I walk on in the sun
I am everyone and no one
And I am having fun
Regardless, having fun

I’ve got a cold
I’m feeling old
I can’t be bold
With daring verse
Both funny and terse
I’m feeling worse
At the very thought
You didn’t ought
To do this, sport
Inflicting strict rhyme
At such a time
When surely I’m
Incapable of thinking
I sit here blinking
And might take to drinking
My mind is blanking
But enough of this wanking
I should be thanking

Who believes I can do it
And look, I’m through it!
