Over the years I have run poetry months, fast fiction contests, and other combinations of writing prompts, and they have always been a popular feature, so I have decided to start a series of prompts for as long as I can keep it up. I am aiming to post them five days a week if I can keep thinking of new prompts.
Writing Skill Builder (A Quick Exercise)
Write at least 100 words about a piece of clothing that you own or for some reason find interesting.
Write a poem about giving away something you wanted to keep.
Short Story / Fast Fiction Prompt
Write a story in which a character must clean something.
Essay / Non-Fiction Prompt
Write about the first place outside your home you remember visiting.
How to Participate
The prompts are for your own practice and development. You don’t have to show anyone. If you would like to leave your response in the comments on this site, that would be fine. If you would like to post them on my Facebook Page, that is also good. If the response gets sufficiently large, I will consider creating a Facebook Group so that there is a contained area to interact, but for now the first two options are available.
