Greetings!
When I started writing, I focused mainly on poetry. I always had a pad and at least a half-dozen pencils in my pocket. In college I took a poetry class that focused heavily on the technical aspects. It made me realize that my passionately felt words were just dabbling.
I began to feel that fiction offered me more freedom. For the years since I’ve been concentrating mainly on fiction. Recently, I’ve renewed my interest in poetry. I guess the hiatus served me well. In the evening, I can’t always sequester myself for four hours to work on my novel but I can take a little time – twenty minutes, half-hour, more – to write poetry.
Your 30 Poems in 30 Days idea appeals to me personally. I feel that I could do it and that I need to, for me.
If you sent me a little note about how I can participate, I would appreciate.
Thanks,
Dan Schwabenbauer
